Congratulations to Katie Lang who successfully defended her M.S. thesis research! Katie's thesis work applied structural mapping and detrital zircon geochronology to test regional correlations between blueschist facies units in the Northwest Cascades and compare the timing of subduction accretion events with other Jurassic-Cretaceous subduction zones along strike in the Cordillera. Katie now works for the Virginia Geologic Survey performing bedrock mapping and GIS work.
