Our research group may be looking for graduate students in Fall 2027 to work on the tectonic evolution of the Northwest Cascades. Please reach out via email if you are interested.

• Jake Ham: Jake is joining us from Colorado college and will focus on the timing and conditions of metamorphism of Permian-Triassic subduction zone rocks in the Aldrich Mountains mélange of Oregon.

Graduated Students

• Syd Rayburn (M.S., 2026): Timing of deformation and metamorphism in the Vedder Complex, southern British Columbia and northwest Washington.

• Andrew Forrer (B.S., 2026): Constraining metamorphic conditions of metapelites through the Coast Mountain batholith, British Columbia with Raman spectroscopy.

• Jeni Chan (M.S., 2026): Progressive underplating and metamorphic sole formation in the Easton metamorphic suite of the North Cascades of Washington.

• Austin Keirs (M.S., 2025): Investigating models of metamorphic sole preservation through thermometry and phase equilibrium modeling of the Easton metamorphic suite, Northwest Cascades.

• Janie Hacker (B.S., 2024): Janie applied Raman spectroscopy of carbonaceous material (RSCM) to test models for the tectonic history of the San Juan Islands and Northwest Cascades thrust system.

• Nick Cunetta (M.S., 2024): Timing of subduction initiation and deformation history of amphibolite and blueschist in the Easton metamorphic suite, Northwest Cascades, Washington.

• Emily Gates (M.S., 2024): Strain localization during subduction and accretion of regional blueschist facies units in the Easton metamorphic suite, NW Cascades Washington.
