Our research group may be looking for graduate students in Fall 2026 to work on the tectonic evolution of the Northwest Cascades. Please reach out via email if you are interested.

Current Students

• Syd Rayburn (M.S.): Syd received her B.S. from the University of Iowa and is combining structural geology and geochronology to determine the age and deformation history of Permo-Triassic high-pressure/low-temperature rocks in the Northwest Cascades.

• Jeni Chan (Graduated, M.S., 2026): Progressive underplating and metamorphic sole formation in the Easton metamorphic suite of the North Cascades of Washington, WWU Graduate School Collection.

• Austin Keirs (Graduated, M.S., 2025): Investigating models of metamorphic sole preservation through thermometry and phase equilibrium modeling of the Easton metamorphic suite, Northwest Cascades, Washington, WWU Graduate School Collection.

• Janie Hacker (Graduated, B.S., 2024): Janie applied Raman spectroscopy of carbonaceous material (RSCM) to test models for the tectonic history of the San Juan Islands and Northwest Cascades thrust system.
